These facilities are regulated by the Missouri Dept of Health and Senior Services, Division of Regulation and Licensure. They have been grouped together because there are very few of each of these types of facilities throughout the state. Locations generated using Centrus geocoder for ArcGIS. Positional accuracy will vary. For 2006, portable X rays were offered as a separate layer. Because there are only a small number of portable X ray locations and becauses there were only 3 other facilities (1 each for abortion, birthing center, children psychiatric), these will now been combined into a single miscellaneous medical facilities layer. 2009: Facilities have not changed from previous year. May 2007 For portaable Xrays, a temporary working copy of the 2006 portable X ray sites is created. May 2007 Table of new addresses was geocoded using Centrus Geocoder for ArcGIS; personal geodatabase file created May 2007 Table consisting of birthing centers, abortion and pychiatric hospitals are geocoded. May 2007 New address points for portable x ray sites appended to temporary working copy. May 2007 Point for birthing centers, abortion and psychiatric hospitals appended to temporary working copy. May 2007 Table was joined to county boundary layer with a spatial join to check for correct county name provided in original data. Discrepencies were identified and corrected. May 2007 Personal geodatabase is exported to shape file. May 2007 Metadata for 2006 portable X rays is exported to text. Process steps are added and data is updated for 2007. May 2007 Shape file is copied from temporary workspace into facility directory located at DHSS as M:\GISDATA\FAcility. Shape file from 2006 is renamed from port_xRay.shp to port_xRay06.shp. For 2007 a new file is created containing both portable X rays and other misc sites - MedicalMisc.shp. May 2007 Excel for 2008 data is imported to Access. Records compared to 2007 list. New sites are put in separate file for processing. Access query is used to combine data from 2008 with the latitude/longitude previously collected. New table is created. February 28, 2008 File of new sites is processed in ArcMap with the Centrus Geocoder for ArcGIS. (There were 10.) Latitude and Longitude coordinates were copied into the new table created in the previous step. Table is used to generate XY events. This event layer was exported to a personal geodatabase file. Feb 28, 2008 Metadata from 2007 version of this layer edited for 2008. Feb 28, 2008 Personal geodatabase file exported to shape file format and copied to M:\GISDATA\Facility Feb 28, 2008 Metadata imported. C:\DOCUME~1\schlot\LOCALS~1\Temp\xml9A.tmp 20080228 Dataset copied. M:\GISADMIN\DataDev\miscMed_xray\miscMed2008 20080228 List from 2009 was compared to locations for 2008. There were no changes from the previous year, so a new file wasn't generated. Instead this metadata was modified to indicate that this data is still current. March 2009 Dataset copied.
