MSDIS acts as a educational resource for GIS users in the State
of Missouri and in the larger mid-western region through our affiliation
with the Mid-America GIS Consortium. Education of the GIS community
is fostered by MSDIS via a number of activities including:
- dissemination of useful information via this WWW page
- participation in local and regional GIS and related conferences
- promoting the formation of GIS user groups across the state
- by providing a list serve (MSDIS News) to enable GIS users to
share their knowledge
- run training sessions for GIS users at conferences, at the University
of Missouri, such as the Geospatial Training Center (GTC) and at other locations
- participation in user group meetings
- by forming partnerships with peers in neighboring states to share
information and knowledge
- participation in the activities of the Missouri GIS Advisory Committee
