East West Gateway Council of Governments (EWGCOG) has recently made a new high-resolution NHD surface water shapefile of their 8-county area available. Nine datasets of HUC 8-digit watersheds' stream features covering EWGCOG area were downloaded from the USGS web site, clipped to their 8-county planning area, and merged using ArcMap.

During 2007, the eastern half of the State of Missouri was photographed at 2 foot resolution, leaf off. Most of the remaining areas of the western half of the state were shot in spring 2008 and these data have now been processed and made available.

These data are are very large in size. In order to make them available for public download without consuming all available bandwidth the imagery has been processed into MrSid format by USGS 1:24,000 Quad. "Due to a restructuring of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Ombudsman Program, the data set named OMBUDSMAN_REG have become outdated. This data set depicted the ombudsman service area boundaries and included their contact information. We are removing the data from our systems on March 30 and are asking that the MSDIS also remove the data and metadata from its Web site."

USDA-NRCS has released Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD). These are considered to updates of 8 and 12 digit hydrologic unit (HUC) data. All previous versions of HUC data (processed by the GRC) have been removed from MSDIS with the agreement of USDA-NRCS. The zip files also contain readme text file, user guide in microsoft word format and an HTML file containing links to metadata hosted by USDA-NRCS. These new data can be found here:
